Frequently Asked Questions

After-School Program

Who is this for?

Currently, this is open to students attending the after-school program at PPD. All students must participate in their school music program if applicable.

How much does it cost?

All students accepted into the PPD program receive free tuition.

What if a student does not yet have an instrument?

In the event that a student does not have an instrument, MOR will provide an instrument that will remain at PPD unless a student receives permission to take it home overnight.

Which instruments can students receive lessons in?

Currently, the MOR After-School Program is only able to offer instruction for violin; however, as the program grows and funding grows, MOR hopes to offer instruction for all instruments.

Are parents required to be involved in lessons?

Parental involvement is not required or expected; volunteers from PPD will work with the students to practice as part of the program.

How are the lessons and practice structured?

Lessons will be taught as a small group; no fewer than two and no more than four per lesson. On days that a student does not receive a lesson, a volunteer from PPD will work with them to practice in the same time slot as their lesson time.

How will students get to PPD?

PPD provides transportation from school to PPD and from PPD to home.
